Overview

Form entries often get edited by several people, and an overwritten value is hard to recover. GravityRevisions addresses this by saving every change to an entry automatically. Each entry gets a timeline of modifications, so administrators and editors can see what changed and review it. This suits teams who manage customer submissions, applications or other data collection forms and want a dependable record of updates.

The plugin works inside your existing Gravity Forms setup and shows revision histories in an organized layout. If an earlier version is the right one, you can restore it. Revisions also cover forms themselves, including notifications and confirmations, and the current form is backed up as a new revision before a restore, so a restore can be undone. Different user roles can track changes based on their permissions.

Features

  • Automatic revision tracking: Every change made to a Gravity Forms entry is saved automatically, so earlier values are kept and not overwritten when someone edits the entry.
  • Detailed change history: Each entry shows a clear, structured view of the modifications made to it, which makes monitoring and reviewing updates straightforward.
  • One-click entry restoration: Bring back a previous version of a form entry to recover information or undo a mistake without retyping the data.
  • Undoable restores: The current form is saved as a new revision before a restore happens, so if you restore the wrong version you can reverse it.
  • Form revisions with notifications: Form notifications and confirmations are included in form revisions, so they are versioned and restored together with the form.
  • Revision count in Forms table: A revision count appears in the Gravity Forms Forms table, giving a quick view of how many revisions each form has.
  • Role-based change tracking: Team members such as admins and editors can track changes based on their permissions, which keeps shared data management organized.
  • Hooks around save and restore: Before and after actions are available for saving, restoring and deleting form revisions, which lets developers attach their own code to those events.

Best for

  • Teams that edit Gravity Forms entries together
  • Sites collecting applications or customer submissions
  • Administrators who need an audit trail of form changes

Changelog

Version 1.9.0 — 27 August 2026

  • New Backs up the current form as a new revision before a restore, so a restore can be undone.
  • New Includes form notifications and confirmations in form revisions, so they are versioned and restored with the form.
  • New Adds a revision count to the Gravity Forms Forms table.
  • Fixed A form revision being applied to the wrong form — revisions are now validated against their own form before restoring.
  • Fixed A single form save creating more than one revision, inflating the revision count.
  • Fixed Editing a notification or confirmation on its own not creating a form revision, leaving the change out of the form's revision history.
  • Fixed A "translation loading was triggered too early" notice on WordPress 6.7 and later, caused by loading settings translations during startup.
  • Improved Adds `before`/`after` actions around form-revision save, restore, and delete: - `gk/gravityrevisions/form-revisions/save/before` and `/after`; - `gk/gravityrevisions/form-revisions/restore/before` and `/after`; - `gk/gravityrevisions/form-revisions/delete/before` and `/after`.
  • Improved Adds the `gk/gravityrevisions/entry-revisions/restore/after` action, which fires after an entry has been restored from a revision and receives the entry ID, the entry before the restore, the restored entry, and the revision ID — restoring suppresses Gravity Forms' entry update hooks so notifications and feeds don't fire, which also leaves anything caching entry data (a calendar subscription, a search index) with nothing else to listen for.
  • Improved Foundation to version 1.31.0.
