Overview
Some forms need the same set of fields filled in more than once: a team roster, a group registration, a list of products. Standard fields handle this poorly. Gravity Perks Nested Forms adds a field type that holds a child form inside the parent form. Visitors add each child entry through a modal popup, and the main form stays clean while they work.
Added entries appear in a compact table inside the parent form, where they can be reviewed, edited or deleted without a page reload. On the admin side, the plugin can pull sums, totals and counts from child entries into calculations, and it can run feeds for each child entry, such as user registrations or notifications. Developers get customizable templates and documented hooks. The interface is keyboard navigable and works with screen readers.
Features
- Nested form field type: Add a form inside a parent Gravity Form to collect complex, grouped data in one submission, such as team rosters or several registrants.
- Repeater field use: Use the field as a repeater so visitors can add multiple instances of a field group, for example several contacts, products or entries.
- Modal entry submission: Child entries are added through a modal popup, which keeps the main form tidy and makes data entry less crowded for the person filling it in.
- Compact table display: Child entries show in a table within the parent form, and users can view, edit or delete them directly without reloading the page.
- Calculations from child forms: Pull sum, total and count values from nested child entries into the parent form for dynamic pricing, tallying participants or custom calculations.
- Feed processing for entries: Trigger actions such as user registrations or notifications for each child entry individually or together when the parent form is submitted.
- Templates and developer hooks: Customizable templates and documented hooks let developers extend the field and adjust how nested entries look and behave.
- Accessibility support: The nested form interface is fully keyboard navigable and compatible with screen readers, so people with disabilities can complete it.
Best for
