Overview

Many community sites give members profiles but little to do on them. This extension adds a wall to each profile, an activity tab, and a global activity stream you can place anywhere with a shortcode. Members can write posts, add photos, like and reply to comments, and use hashtags to find related posts. Links to YouTube and Vimeo videos are embedded in the stream automatically.

Site owners keep control. Members can set their wall to private or members-only, and flag inappropriate posts through a reporting system. Administrators manage wall activity from the backend, choose which activity types appear, and limit posting or commenting by user role. It also works with the Ultimate Member Followers and Notifications extensions, plus WooCommerce and bbPress, so product and forum updates can appear in the same feed.

Features

  • Wall posts on profiles: Members can write public posts on their own walls and post on other members' profiles. Each profile also gets an activity tab showing that member's own interactions and updates.
  • Photos and video embeds: Users can attach photos to their posts. When someone shares a YouTube or Vimeo video URL, the video is embedded directly in the activity stream.
  • Likes, comments and replies: Members can like, comment on and reply to posts right in the activity stream. Ajax pagination loads wall posts and comments without a full page reload.
  • Hashtags and front-end editing: Posts support hashtags, and clicking one leads to related posts. Members can also edit their own wall posts on the front end without leaving the page.
  • Shortcode activity feeds: Display a global activity wall anywhere on your site with a shortcode. Logged-in users can also see their personal activity feed on any page through a shortcode.
  • Privacy and reporting tools: Members can set their wall to private or members-only from their account page. A reporting system lets users flag inappropriate wall posts for review.
  • Admin moderation and role control: Administrators manage wall activity through a custom post type, disable social walls, or restrict posting and commenting for specific user roles. They also choose which activity types appear.
  • WooCommerce, bbPress and extensions: Show new products from WooCommerce and new forum topics from bbPress in the feed. Followers and Notifications extensions add follow updates and alerts for wall posts, likes and comments.

Best for
