Overview

A directory site needs more than a nice layout. Listings have their own fields, visitors need to narrow results, and owners need a way to submit and manage entries. MyListing is built around those needs. You define listing types with custom fields, taxonomies and attributes, then set up the filters and search criteria that fit your niche, whether that is local businesses, events, real estate or travel guides.

The design side is handled with a visual drag-and-drop page builder, so you can arrange layouts without writing code. Several pre-built demos and layouts give you a starting point for different industries. Front-end submission lets users add and manage their own listings, reviews and ratings add community feedback, and options for paid listings, subscriptions or featured packages let you monetize the directory. Pages are responsive and Retina ready for phones, tablets and desktops.

Features

  • Drag-and-drop page builder: Arrange and customize your site layout in a visual editor, so you can shape pages and listing displays without writing code.
  • Advanced search and filtering: Visitors narrow results with filters and search criteria that you tailor to your directory, which helps them reach relevant listings quickly.
  • Customizable listing types: Define custom fields, taxonomies and attributes for each kind of listing, so businesses, events or properties each carry the details they need.
  • Front-end listing submission: Users can submit and manage their own listings from the front end of the site, which reduces the admin work for the site owner.
  • Reviews and ratings: Each listing can collect customizable reviews and ratings, giving visitors community feedback to read before they choose.
  • Paid listing options: Set up paid listings, subscriptions or featured listing packages to earn money from the directory.
  • Pre-built demos and layouts: Start from demo templates designed for different industries, then adjust them to match your own directory.
  • Responsive, Retina ready design: Layouts adapt to mobiles, tablets and desktops, and graphics stay sharp on high-resolution screens.

Best for

  • Local business directory builders
  • Real estate and travel listing sites
  • Event portals with user-submitted listings

Changelog

Version 3.2 — 28 October 2026

  • Improved MyListing now requires PHP 8.2 or newer and is tested up to PHP 8.5.
  • New Free listing packages with "Disable repeat purchase?" enabled now skip WooCommerce checkout, like other free packages. No order, order emails or billing details are created. Return false from the mylisting\packages\free\skip-checkout filter to restore checkout.
  • New Added the mylisting/listing/priority-presentation filter to customize the priority badge on preview cards, Quick View and map popups.
  • Security Facebook Login now checks that the login token belongs to your Facebook app, and it requires the App Secret. After updating, enter the Facebook App Secret in Social Login settings.
  • Security Facebook Login no longer links accounts automatically by email address.
  • Improved Password-protected listings now show the WordPress password form until the password is entered. Listing content, reviews, schema markup and Open Graph data stay hidden until then.
  • Improved Paginated comments and reviews now respect the post's visibility and password protection.
  • Improved Listing button click tracking now only records configured actions that have tracking enabled.
  • Improved Zero-priced subscription packages now go through checkout, so WooCommerce Subscriptions can create the subscription.

  • Improved Added protection against accidental double submission on package selection, listing submission, preview and claim forms.
  • Fixed Search index builds failing, and listing locations stored with swapped coordinates, on MySQL 8. To repair existing location data, run the location update from Theme Tools > Performance > Data Updates. It runs in the background and shows its progress.

  • Fixed Users being taken through the whole Add Listing form with a preselected package they couldn't buy, such as a free trial they had already used.
