wpForo Private Messages

Public forum replies are not always the right place for a personal question or a sensitive topic. wpForo Private Messages gives members a direct channel inside the forum. Messages are visible only to the sender and the intended recipients, and members write using their forum nicknames, so personal information stays protected.

Conversations are stored within the forum system and opened from a dedicated Messages page under My Profile. Members can start individual or group threads, add images, URLs and other embedded content, and manage contacts with block and report tools. Admins set limits on who can send messages and can review messaging activity from the wpForo Dashboard.

• Private one-on-one messaging: Members send messages directly to one another. Only the sender and the intended recipients can see them, which keeps personal conversations out of public view.
• Group conversations: Start a conversation with several forum members at once. Group threads allow collaborative discussions that do not belong in a public topic.

• Email notifications: Users receive an email when a new private message arrives, so they know to come back to the forum and reply.
• Permissions and anti-spam limits: Admins can require a minimum number of forum posts, limit daily contacts and control message permissions. These settings help prevent abuse and spam.
• Rich content and dashboard statistics: Messages can include embedded images, URLs and other content. Private message statistics in the wpForo Dashboard show admins how much messaging activity is taking place.
