wpDiscuz - Comment Search

Posts with hundreds of replies are hard to read from top to bottom. Someone looking for a single answer, a particular author or an earlier point in the discussion has to scroll and guess. This add-on gives the comment section a search form that returns matching comments as the visitor types, and the results update without a page reload.

Searching is not limited to the visible comment text. You can search by comment text, author name, author email or custom fields. A widget extends the search to comments across all posts and pages, and the form can be shown or hidden for guest users. The form's colors, backgrounds, borders and phrases can be adjusted to fit your design, and the front-end phrases can be translated. It needs wpDiscuz to be installed on the site.

Features

• Live AJAX comment search: Results appear in real time as the visitor types in the search form, so people can find a comment without waiting for the page to reload.
• Four search modes: Search by comment text, comment author name, author email or custom fields, depending on what the visitor or administrator is trying to find.
• Reload-free results: Matching comments update dynamically on the page, so readers stay where they are while they look through results.
• AJAX pagination: Longer sets of search results are split into pages, and visitors can move between them without the page reloading.
• Sitewide comment search widget: A widget extends search to the whole site's comment database, letting users find comments across all posts and pages from one place.
• Guest search control: Choose whether the search form is visible to guest users, which gives you control over who can use the feature.
• Front-end styling options: Change colors, backgrounds, borders and phrases so the search form matches the look and branding of your site.
• Translatable front-end phrases: All phrases shown on the front end can be translated, so the search form can match the language of your audience.
