wpDiscuz - User & Comment Mentioning

Busy comment threads can get hard to follow. People reply to one another without a clear sign of who they mean or which comment they are answering. This addon gives commenters two simple tags: @username to mention a person and #comment-id to point to a specific comment. A searchable user bar helps them find registered users and guest commenters, so tagging takes only a moment.

Once a mention is posted, it becomes a clickable link with an avatar. Hovering over it opens a small pop-up with details about the user or an excerpt of the comment, and a click leads to the profile or the comment itself. Mentioned users and comment authors receive an email, and you can edit its content from the backend. The addon needs the Comment Rich Editor turned on in wpDiscuz and works with newer wpDiscuz releases.

Features

• User mentions with @username: Commenters type @username to mention another person directly in a comment, which makes it clear who a reply is meant for.
• Comment references with #comment-id: Use #comment-id tags to point to a specific comment. Each comment shows its unique ID in the top-right corner, with an easy way to copy it.
• Searchable user bar: An automatic user search lets commenters find and tag registered users as well as guest commenters without typing out full names from memory.
• Email notifications for mentions: Mentioned users and authors of referenced comments get an email, so they can return to the conversation and take part.
• Customizable notification emails: Edit the content of mention notification emails from the plugin backend, so the message fits the tone of your site.
• Linked mentions with avatars: Mentions turn into clickable links that include user avatars, which makes them easy to spot inside a comment thread.
• Hover pop-up details: Hovering over a mention shows user or comment information, including avatars and text excerpts, so readers get context without leaving the page.
• Independent enable and disable options: Manage the functions and components separately, so you can keep only the mention features that suit how your readers interact.

Best for
