UsersWP MailChimp removes that extra step by placing a customizable "Subscribe to our newsletter" checkbox on your UsersWP registration forms. People who opt in are added to your MailChimp audience automatically, so you do not have to copy addresses by hand.

Setup uses your MailChimp API Key and Audience ID. After that, the same subscription form can appear elsewhere on your site through a Gutenberg block, a widget or the [uwp_mailchimp] shortcode.
