Overview
Some products sell before they exist on the shelf: a new launch, a restock of a popular item, or a service with a start date. WooCommerce Pre Orders gives a WooCommerce store a way to accept those orders early, so you can gauge demand and keep customers engaged while they wait.
You decide how payment works. Charge customers upfront, or charge them automatically when the product is released. You can add an optional release date and time, release orders automatically or by hand, and send email updates along the way. It works with simple and variable products, so most catalogs fit without rework.

- Fixed Improved handling of pre-order release payments, so a pre-order that has already been paid is not charged again.
- Fixed A pre-order that is skipped during the Complete action is now recorded in an order note and reported as skipped on the Manage Pre-Orders screen.
- New Add the wc_pre_orders_release_payment_charged action so payment gateways can discard the payment token they stored for an order once its release payment has been taken.
- Improved A pre-order with a recorded release payment can no longer be changed to completed, and is no longer returned to active by an order status change. The wc_pre_orders_allow_duplicate_release_payment and wc_pre_orders_auto_update_pre_order_status filters restore the previous behavior.
