Overview

Selling large digital files from a regular web host can strain the server. Ebooks, software, media files and course videos all add load when many customers download at once. WooCommerce Amazon S3 Storage moves the storage and delivery of those files to your Amazon S3 buckets, so the store itself carries less of the work during busy periods.

The plugin works inside the normal WooCommerce product setup. You can use more than one bucket, mix local files and S3 files in the same product, and add S3 file paths with shortcodes. Each download link is signed and expires after a set time, so only customers who bought a file can reach it. It suits stores that sell PDFs, MP3s, ZIP files, software, video lessons and bundles.

Features

  • Offload files to Amazon S3: Digital product files are stored and delivered from your Amazon S3 buckets, which takes the storage and download work off your own web server.
  • Multiple S3 buckets: Assign different buckets to different products and serve files from several storage locations, so you can organize your digital assets the way your catalog is arranged.
  • Signed, time-limited URLs: Download links are signed and expire after a set time, which helps keep files away from unauthorized access and limits them to customers who purchased.
  • Hybrid local and S3 delivery: Combine files kept on your own server with files hosted on S3 inside the same product, and choose the delivery approach that fits each item.
  • Shortcode file paths: Use shortcodes to embed Amazon S3 file paths in product pages and downloads, which keeps file management simple when you work with many files.
  • Cloudflare R2 and custom providers: Connect Cloudflare R2 or a custom S3-compatible provider. The redirect method setting is honored, and a default bucket is used until you save your own.
  • Newer AWS regions: Choose from newer AWS regions, including Israel (Tel Aviv), Mexico (Central) and Canada West (Calgary), when you set up the connection to your storage.
  • Check your saved access key: The access key ID appears as plain text in the settings, so you can confirm which key is saved before you serve files from your buckets.

Best for

  • WooCommerce stores selling large digital downloads
  • Sellers of ebooks, software, music and video lessons
  • Store owners who want files kept off their own server
