Overview
Many sites collect leads, orders and requests through forms, then move that data by hand into email tools, CRMs or storage. WPForms n8n removes that manual step. You pick which WPForms event starts a workflow, such as form submitted or payment completed, and n8n carries out the follow-up actions in the apps you connect.
Setup centers on field mapping. You choose which form fields feed into your n8n workflow, so each piece of data lands where you want it. That makes it practical for marketing follow-ups, team notifications and data transfers between tools. It works with forms you already have in WPForms, and you can adjust the workflows as your needs change.
Features
- Connects WPForms to n8n: Link your existing WPForms forms to n8n workflows, so form activity can start automated actions in other apps without writing code.
- Choose the triggering event: Decide which form activity starts a workflow, for example a form submission or a completed payment, to match how your business handles each form.
- Field mapping: Map individual form fields to variables in your n8n workflows, so the right data is passed along to each step of the automation.
- Code-free workflows: Build multi-step, multi-app workflows in n8n with no programming knowledge, covering marketing tasks, notifications and data management.
- Works with many apps: Use n8n's range of supported apps to reach email marketing platforms, CRMs, project management tools and other services from a single form.
- Team and customer alerts: Send notifications by email, Slack or other communication channels when a form event occurs, so people hear about new submissions quickly.
- Secure Custom Values: Add Custom Values to your field mapping and mark them as secure, so sensitive entries are redacted in the delivery log.
- Self-hosted n8n support: Connect to a local or self-hosted n8n instance by entering its webhook URL, and test the connection from the form settings.
Best for
- Site owners who want form data sent to other apps
- Marketers automating follow-ups and lead notifications
- Teams running n8n, including self-hosted setups, alongside WPForms
Changelog
Version 1.3.0 — 15 September 2026
- Improved The minimum WPForms version supported is 2.0.2.
- Fixed Testing the connection to a local or self-hosted n8n instance failed even when local delivery was enabled.
- Fixed The padlock toggle for a secure Custom Value in the Field Mapping table could not be clicked.
- Fixed The webhook URL of a self-hosted n8n instance was cleared when the form was saved, preventing submissions from being delivered.
- Fixed Successful deliveries to n8n were reported as failed and not logged when a connection's Field Mapping included a Custom Value.
- Security A Custom Value marked as secure was written to the delivery log in plain text instead of being redacted.
- Fixed Undo and Redo in the Form Builder overwrote an existing connection's field mapping with another connection's values, and saving then stored that connection without its mapped data.
