wpForo User Mentioning

In an active forum, it is easy for a question to go unseen by the person who could answer it. This addon gives members a direct way to bring someone into a conversation. They type @ in the topic or post editor, and a small pop-up lists matching users, so nobody has to remember an exact username.

The pop-up can be browsed with the up and down arrow keys and a member picks a user with the enter key. Once a user is mentioned, they receive an email notification about it. The addon is lightweight and built for wpForo, so it fits forums that already run on that plugin and need clearer ways for members to reach each other.

Features

• Autocomplete user mentions: Typing @ in the editor opens a responsive dropdown of matching users, so members can find and tag the right person quickly without typing a full username.
• Works in topic and post editors: Mentions can be added in both the topic editor and the post editor, so members can pull others in when starting a discussion or replying to one.
• Keyboard navigation: Members can move through the suggested users with the up and down arrow keys and choose one by pressing enter, which keeps their hands on the keyboard while writing.
• Email notifications for mentions: A mentioned user is notified by email, which helps them learn about discussions that involve them and return to reply.
• Compact suggestion pop-up: The suggestion window is small and appears as you type the @ symbol, updating its matches as you go so it stays out of the way of your writing.
• Lightweight addon: The addon is designed to have minimal impact on forum performance, so a wpForo forum keeps responding normally while mentions are in use.
• Built for wpForo: It is made for wpForo forums by gVectors Team, the creators of wpForo, and works as an addon within your existing forum setup.
