wpForo - Voice Posting

Typing is a barrier for some forum members. Others simply find speech more personal and expressive. wpForo – Voice Posting gives them a way to join a discussion by recording a message instead. Members click the microphone icon in the topic or post editor, record, and post. Each message appears with an embedded audio player, so other members can listen without leaving the page.

Administrators stay in control. Settings let you decide who may post voice messages and how long a recording can run. Recording happens on the user's device, which keeps server load low. The addon is built for wpForo forums only and needs a current release of that forum plugin, so it fits sites that already run wpForo and want audio alongside text.

Features

• Microphone icon in editors: A microphone icon appears in the topic and post editors, so members can start recording a voice message right where they write their text posts.
• Embedded audio player: Voice posts show up with an audio player inside topics and replies, letting other members listen to a message without leaving the page.
• Start, stop and cancel controls: The recording interface has clear start, stop and cancel buttons, so users can manage a recording and discard it before posting if they are unhappy with it.
• Permission settings: Administrators choose which users are allowed to post voice messages, which helps keep the feature under control on forums with different member roles.
• Maximum recording length: Set a limit on how long each voice message can be. This keeps recordings manageable and helps prevent misuse of the feature.
• Recording on the device: Voice recording is processed on the user's own device, which keeps server load minimal and keeps the recording step private to the user.
• Built for wpForo: The addon is made exclusively for wpForo forums and requires a recent release of the plugin, so it works as a natural extension of your existing forum.
• Responsive display: Voice posts and their players are designed to display and work on devices of different sizes, from desktop computers to smartphones.

Best for
