wpForo Embeds

Forum threads often turn into lists of links, and readers have to leave the conversation to see what someone is talking about. wpForo Embeds addresses this by turning a pasted link into media that plays or displays right in the post. It covers video, audio, photos and social network posts from a wide range of content providers.

The addon builds on the oEmbed project, which gives it consistent handling across supported providers. It also adds extra control over how videos are presented and a live preview, so members can check an embed before they publish. It works with wpForo and is meant for forums that want richer posts without extra manual formatting.

Features

• Video embedding from major providers: Embed full videos from more than 30 major video providers, including YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion and Vevo, directly inside forum topics and replies.
• Audio, photo and social embeds: Beyond video, members can place music and sound clips, pictures and social network posts in a thread. Providers include SoundCloud, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and Instagram.
• Built on oEmbed: The addon uses the embedding options of the oEmbed project, which keeps media handling consistent across the content providers it supports.
• Extended video controls: Extra options give you more say over how embedded videos and other media are presented inside forum posts.
• Live preview: Administrators and members can preview embedded content before publishing, which makes it easier to confirm the display and formatting look right.
• Made for wpForo: The addon is built as an extension for forums powered by wpForo, so embedding fits into the topic and reply posting your community already uses.
• Works with current PHP and WordPress: The addon supports the latest PHP and WordPress releases, so it can sit alongside the rest of your site as those platforms move forward.
