wpDiscuz - Emoticons

Plain text comments can read flat, and the default WordPress smilies are limited. wpDiscuz – Emoticons works with wpDiscuz to give your commenters a wider set of smiley icons. Typed smile codes are converted into emoticon images in the comment, and a smiley button in the comment toolbar lets people pick one without remembering any codes.

Site admins keep control over what appears. You can add your own emoticons with custom codes and images, create and switch between multiple packages, and turn individual emoticons on or off. Conversion can also be enabled in post content, and the add-on works with bbPress so forum posts and topic editors share the same emoticons. Colors for the selector can be adjusted to match your design.

Features

• Unique smiles package: Includes a set of designed emoticons that commenters can use to add personality and emotion to their comments.
• Automatic smile code conversion: Smile codes typed into a comment are turned into the matching emoticon images in the published comment content.
• Emoticon selector button: A smiley icon sits in the bottom toolbar of the comment textarea, so users can choose and insert emoticons with a click.
• Custom emoticons: Admins can add their own emoticons by setting a custom code and uploading an image, to fit the style of the site and community.
• Multiple emoticon packages: Create, manage and switch between several emoticon packages, so you decide which set your commenters see.
• Selective activation: Enable or disable individual emoticons to keep the available choices relevant to your community's conversations.
• Emoticons in post content: An option lets emoticon conversion work inside post content as well, so articles can use the same smiley codes as comments.
• bbPress compatibility: Replaces bbPress forum post emoticons with wpDiscuz emoticons and adds an emoticon chooser to bbPress topic and post editors.
