Overview

Busy comment sections attract spam, offensive remarks and off-topic replies, and a single moderator can fall behind. This add-on gives your readers a flag button on each comment, so they can point out what needs attention. You can keep flagging simple, or use a pop-up report form where the visitor picks a category and adds a description.

Once comments start receiving flags or downvotes, the plugin can act on them. It can unapprove or trash a comment when it reaches the threshold you set, and it can send email alerts about new reports. It is built only for wpDiscuz, so it suits sites that already use that plugin for comments and want the community to help with moderation.

Features

  • Flag button on comments: Each comment gets a flag button, so readers can mark a comment that needs attention and moderators can see what the community considers a problem.
  • Two flagging modes: Choose simple comment flagging, or a detailed mode with a pop-up report form that includes category selection and a description for more precise reports.
  • Automatic comment moderation: Set a threshold of flags or downvotes, and the plugin unapproves or trashes a comment once it reaches that number, cutting down manual filtering.
  • Editable report categories: Add, edit or remove the bad comment categories shown on the report form, so the options match the kinds of problems your site actually sees.
  • Email notifications for reports: Receive alerts with details about new reports, and when a comment reaches the maximum number of flags or dislikes, so moderators can respond.
  • Guest reporting control: Decide whether visitors without accounts may flag or report comments, which lets you balance easy access against abuse of the report feature.
  • Adjustable email content: Change the subject and body of the notification emails so the messages stay consistent with your site's tone and the way you communicate.
  • Translatable front-end phrases: Translate each front-end phrase individually, so the flagging and reporting interface can appear in the language your visitors read.

Best for

  • Sites already using wpDiscuz for comments
  • Blogs and communities with busy comment sections
  • Moderators who want readers to report problem comments
