Overview

Grids with facets and filters send a new request every time a visitor changes a selection. On sites with dynamic layouts and complex filtering, those queries add up. This add-on saves the queried content in a database table built for asynchronous requests, so matching requests can be answered from the saved copy.

You decide how the cache behaves. Exclude certain grids or facets, set how long cached content stays valid, and clear the cache globally or by page from the WordPress admin menus or toolbar. Developers and site admins can also run cache tasks through WP-CLI, and PHP filters allow further adjustments for advanced setups.

Features

  • Cached filtering requests: Query results from grid and facet filtering are stored in a dedicated cache table, which reduces server load and response time when visitors interact with grids.
  • Exclusions for grids and facets: Leave specific grids or facets out of the cache. Disabling it for search facets, for example, avoids storing an endless number of filter combinations.
  • Adjustable cache lifespan: Set how long cached content remains valid through the settings or with PHP filters, so you can balance fresh content against saved results.
  • Global or per-page clearing: Clear the cache for the whole site or for an individual page from the admin menus or the WordPress toolbar, which helps with troubleshooting and content updates.
  • WP-CLI cache management: Run cache operations from the command line, including clearing everything, clearing specific grids or templates, and cleaning up expired cache items.
  • Automatic expiry cleanup: Built-in cron jobs regularly purge expired cache, so visitors get current content without manual work. Filters can change cleanup intervals or turn the cron jobs off.
  • PHP filters for developers: Filters let you bypass the cache under certain conditions, change the cache lifespan, modify cleanup intervals or disable cron jobs for more advanced use cases.
  • Admin bar shortcuts: Caching controls and a link to the WP Grid Builder dashboard sit in the WordPress admin bar, so common tasks are close at hand.
