Overview

Customers often need to fix an order after they place it: a wrong address, a different quantity, another shipping option. Without a way to do it themselves, they write to support, and someone on your team has to make the change by hand. Edit Order by Customer moves that task to the shopper. An Edit Order button appears in the order history, and the customer updates the order before payment is finalized.

You stay in control of the process. Editing can be limited by order status and by user role, and you pick which billing and shipping fields are open to change. Orders that a customer edits move to on-hold so an admin can review them, and an email tells the store administrator about the edit. This suits B2B stores and shops that handle large or complex orders, where adjustments before payment or fulfillment are common.

Features

  • Customer order editing: Shoppers change a placed order from their My Account page, so small corrections no longer need a support message or a manual edit by your staff.
  • Status-based edit controls: Allow or block editing depending on the current order status, so changes only happen at the stages that fit your order processing workflow.
  • Role-based permissions: Set editing capabilities by customer role, which gives different customer groups, such as wholesale and retail buyers, different levels of flexibility.
  • Address editing: Customers can update billing and shipping addresses on their orders, which helps cut down on delivery errors caused by outdated or mistyped details.
  • Selective field editing: Choose which address fields can be changed, so details such as zip codes or countries can stay locked while other fields remain open.
  • Product editing: Customers can add, remove or change products on an order within the statuses you allow, such as pending payment or on-hold. This helps with bulk and B2B orders.
  • Payment and shipping changes: Shoppers can switch their payment method or shipping option themselves instead of contacting the store to ask for the change.
  • Admin alerts and on-hold review: An email notifies the store administrator when an order is edited, and the order moves to on-hold so the changes can be reviewed before processing.

Best for

  • WooCommerce stores that want fewer order-change support requests
  • B2B shops handling bulk or complex orders
  • Store owners who want role and status based editing rules
