SearchWP Co-Authors Plus Integration

The default WordPress search overlooks author information, which makes it hard to find posts by a particular writer. This extension indexes author details such as first and last names, display names and bios. Posts with several authors can then be found through any of the people credited on them.

You can fold author data into your main search or build a separate search that focuses only on authors. A customizable ranking algorithm weighs author relevance and keyword matches, and simple controls let you promote or demote certain posts. It works with the Co-Authors Plus plugin and the SearchWP core, and it suits blogs, news sites and other multi-author publications.

Features

• Co-Authors Plus connection: Links SearchWP with the Co-Authors Plus plugin, so content written by multiple authors can be found through any combination of those authors.
• Author data indexing: Indexes first and last names, display names and bios, so these author details can be matched by visitors searching your site.
• Author data in main search: Adds author information to your primary site search, so one search box can return posts based on who wrote them.
• Author-only searches: Lets you create dedicated searches built around author criteria, which is useful when visitors want to browse content by writer.
• Customizable ranking algorithm: Ranks results using author relevance and keyword matches, giving you a more precise order than the default WordPress search.
• Promote or demote posts: Simple controls let you decide which posts appear higher or lower in author search results to fit your site's needs.
• Live Ajax instant search: Shows search suggestions and results as visitors type, so they can reach author content without waiting for a full page reload.
• One-click setup: The Co-Authors Plus extension can be activated with one click, so little setup is needed before author data is searchable.

Best for
