GeoDirectory Marker Cluster tidies this up by combining close listings into one cluster marker, which gives the map a cleaner and more readable layout.

Clusters are interactive. When a visitor clicks one, the map zooms into that area and the cluster breaks apart into smaller groups or single listings. The plugin offers client-side rendering for smaller and mid-sized directories and server-side rendering for very large sets of listings. It works with Google Maps and Open Street Maps, and with the GeoDirectory Custom Post Types and Custom Map Styles add-ons.
