Radio Player Shoutcast & Icecast WordPress Plugin

Running a radio station or an audio channel on WordPress usually means finding a player that handles internet radio streams and still looks right on a phone. This plugin covers that job. You enter the MP3 radio stream URL, and the player fetches the station name, categories and the song that is currently playing.

It also looks up artist photos through musicbrainz.org, with images taken from Wikimedia and Wikidata when they are available, so visitors see the performer next to the track. The layout is responsive and works on iOS and Android as well as desktop browsers. Two skins, black and white, let you match the player to your site, and the code is built with HTML, CSS and JS.

Features

• Setup from a stream URL: Enter the MP3 radio stream URL and the player retrieves the station details and current track information on its own, which keeps setup and management simple.
• Shoutcast and Icecast support: The player works with both Shoutcast and Icecast, the two internet radio streaming protocols, so it fits a wide range of broadcasting setups.
• Artist photos: The current artist's photo appears in the player, using the musicbrainz.org API and images from Wikimedia and Wikidata when they are available.
• Responsive layout: The player adapts to different screen sizes and devices, so it displays properly on desktop browsers, tablets and smartphones.
• iOS and Android playback: Mobile platforms are supported, so listeners on iOS and Android devices can stream the station from their phones and tablets.
• Black and white skins: Choose between a black skin and a white skin to match the look of your website and its existing color scheme.
• Optional responsive mode setting: A parameter lets you turn responsive mode on or off, which helps when the player sits inside a site that is not responsive.
• AAC stream support: On browsers that can handle AAC streams, the player supports that audio format in addition to MP3, which widens the range of streams you can use.
