Miresa – WordPress Rich Text Editor For BuddyPress

By default, BuddyPress accepts only plain text in activity updates. That keeps posts basic and gives members little room to express themselves. Miresa swaps the default box for a visual editor, so members can add rich HTML content such as images, videos, links, tables and styled text, and they never need to touch code.

The editor is built from modules, and each one can be turned on or off from a settings panel. Sites can load only the scripts they need and keep the editor as simple or as full as the community requires. A built-in GIPHY search lets members find and insert GIFs and animated stickers. The design is responsive, so it works on modern devices.

Features

• Visual editor for activity posts: Replaces the plain BuddyPress text box with an editor that supports bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, superscript and subscript, so members can style what they write.
• HTML content without coding: Members can add images, videos, links, tables and other HTML elements to their activity updates through the editor, with no knowledge of code required.
• Modular settings panel: Editor modules such as font styles, line height, text color, background and emojis can be enabled or disabled in a dedicated settings panel, so only needed scripts load.
• GIPHY integration: Members can search the GIPHY library from inside the editor and insert animated GIFs and stickers directly into their posts.
• Text and paragraph formatting: Offers font choices, text colors, background highlights, paragraph alignment, horizontal rules and lists for posts that are neatly organized and easy to read.
• Undo, redo and code view: Undo and redo make editing forgiving, and members comfortable with HTML can toggle a code view to work with the markup directly.
• Emojis and special characters: Emojis and special characters can be inserted from within the editor, giving members a quick way to add tone to their messages.
• Responsive design: The editor layout adapts to modern devices, so members can write and format posts on desktop screens as well as on phones and tablets.
