Product facts

Version: 1.2.1
Released: 4 October 2026
Type: Plugin
Licence: GPL
Included in: Every plan, or $0.90 on its own

Overview

Membership sites often have files that only paying members should reach. Without a tool for it, a direct file link can be shared with anyone. This add-on ties each download to your membership levels, so the right members get the right files and everyone else does not.

It works with your existing Paid Memberships Pro setup. You build a download library, set the access rules, and place downloads on pages with a shortcode or a Download block. You can also filter the library by download category. It suits online course sites, digital libraries and subscription communities that treat downloadable content as part of what members receive.

Features

Restrictions by membership level: Choose which files each membership tier can reach, so premium downloads stay available only to the members they are meant for.
Works with Paid Memberships Pro: The add-on builds on your current membership setup, so levels you already have can control who may download which files.
Many file types: Offer ebooks, PDFs, videos, audio files and other digital assets as member downloads from one place.
Download library: Keep your files organized in a straightforward library, then show it on a page with a shortcode or a Download Library block.
Category filtering: Filter the Download Library by download category, using a shortcode attribute or the Categories setting in the block, to show members only the files that fit.
Protected file delivery: Files are guarded against unauthorized access and direct sharing, which helps keep exclusive downloads under your control.
Flexible access rules: Set download permissions by membership level, and also by expiration dates or specific user permissions when you need finer control.
Optional download tracking: Monitor which members download specific files to see which content gets used and how members engage with it.
