Overview
Standard posts and pages do not always fit the content a site needs to hold, such as products, listings, events or team profiles. ACPT gives you a place to define those content types yourself, group them with custom taxonomies, and attach extra fields like text, image, date or select to each entry. Nothing needs to be written in PHP.
The plugin also adds option pages for site-wide settings and dynamic Gutenberg blocks that pull in content from your custom post types and fields. Developers can extend it with hooks and filters, while agencies and non-technical owners can build structured, data-driven sites from the admin screen.
Features
- Custom post types: Create as many custom post types as you need to organize specialized content that does not belong in standard posts and pages, and control their settings from one screen.
- Custom taxonomies: Define your own taxonomies to classify content, so entries can be grouped, filtered and navigated in ways that suit your site's structure.
- Meta fields builder: Add custom meta fields such as text, image, date and select to your posts, so each entry can carry detailed information beyond the main editor content.
- Option pages: Generate custom option pages in the WordPress dashboard to hold site-wide settings, giving admins and clients one tidy spot for global content.
- Dynamic Gutenberg blocks: Design blocks for the Gutenberg editor that automatically pull content from your custom post types and fields, so pages stay in sync with your data.
- Visual setup, no code: Everything is configured through on-screen controls, so people who do not write PHP, HTML or JavaScript can still build complex content structures.
- Hooks and filters: Developers get advanced hooks and filters for extending the plugin and connecting it with other tools and themes when a project calls for custom behavior.
Best for
- Agencies building data-driven client websites
- Developers who want hooks and filters to extend
- Site owners without coding skills needing custom content
Changelog
Version 2.1.9 — 29 October 2026
- Fixed Fatal error at the end of the update to 2.1.8
- Improved The update from older versions no longer shows the error (Tickets #1444, #1446).
- New ACPT Lite: Activating ACPT while ACPT Lite 2.1.0 is active crashed - upgrading from ACPT Lite failed with "Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error": both plugins declared the same functions, and the import stopped on a Lite field group without a position (e.g. a field group on users). ACPT now activates, imports Lite's post types, taxonomies and field groups, and deactivates Lite.
