Easy Digital Downloads - Gateway Fees

Every payment gateway takes a cut of each transaction, and on an EDD store those costs add up. This plugin gives you a way to pass them on to buyers. You set the fee for each gateway so it matches what that gateway actually charges, and the amount is added to the order at checkout.

You can also apply fees by order total, so small and large purchases are treated differently if you want that. Fees can be fixed, a percentage, or a mix of both. The plugin calculates them at checkout and shows them to customers before they pay. The settings screen groups options and shows the status of each gateway, and developers can use hooks and filters to adjust behavior further.

Features

• Fees for each gateway: Set a specific fee for each payment gateway, so the amount added at checkout matches the transaction cost of the method the customer chooses.
• Order total fee rules: Apply fees conditionally based on the order amount, which lets you manage fees differently for smaller and larger purchases.
• Fixed, percentage or combined fees: Choose a fixed fee, a percentage-based fee, or a combination of both, depending on how you want to structure the charge.
• Automatic fee calculation: Gateway fees are calculated in real time at checkout, so you do not have to work out or enter amounts by hand.
• Fees shown at checkout: The payment gateway fee is displayed during checkout, so customers can see the charge before they complete payment.
• Works with multiple gateways: The plugin handles fee calculation across the payment gateways supported by Easy Digital Downloads, including stores that offer more than one.
• Gateway status in settings: The settings screen groups options together and shows the status of each gateway, which makes it easier to review your setup.
• Hooks and filters for developers: Developers can use the provided hooks and filters to tailor how the fee functionality behaves for a particular store.
