Overview
A community site needs more than a list of registered users. Members want to find people they know, follow what those people share and feel part of a group. PeepSo Friends handles the first step by letting users send and accept friend requests through a simple interface, so connections form inside your own WordPress site.
The plugin belongs to the PeepSo suite, which turns a WordPress site into a social network. Around the friend connections you can use profiles, an activity stream, groups, photo albums and chat. It fits niche forums, learning sites, marketplaces and communities built around membership, and it works with WooCommerce and LearnDash where your site needs them.
Features
- Friend requests: Members send friend requests to other users, and recipients accept them through a simple interface, so connections form between people on your site.
- Customizable user profiles: Members get personalized avatars, cover images and detailed profile fields, which give each person a clear identity within the community.
- Activity stream: A real-time feed carries posts, nested comments, likes and hashtags, so conversations among members continue in one shared place.
- Photos, albums and files: Users can share photos, create albums and upload files, which adds richer content to their social interactions.
- User-created groups: Members can start groups around shared interests and activities, which supports niche discussions inside your community.
- Real-time chat and notifications: Instant messaging and push notifications keep members informed and involved in conversations as they happen.
- E-learning integration: The suite connects with LearnDash and TutorLMS to build a learning community with course activity tracking and related group features.
- Store and marketplace options: WooCommerce and Dokan integrations let you combine social networking with an online shop or a multi-vendor marketplace.
Best for
- Niche forums and interest-based online communities
- E-learning sites that want a social layer
- Membership sites and marketplaces with member profiles
