Overview
Every WordPress site has a login page, and automated bots try to guess passwords there all day. Loginizer focuses on that entry point. It counts failed login attempts, locks out addresses that exceed your set limit and keeps a log of what happened, so you can see which attempts were blocked and respond to anything suspicious.
The plugin comes with pre-configured settings, so basic protection is in place right away, and every option can still be adjusted to fit your site. Beginners can leave the defaults alone, while experienced users can tune lockouts, IP lists and verification steps. It suits a personal blog, a business site or an agency that looks after several websites.
Features
- Brute force protection: Automatically blocks IP addresses that exceed the allowed number of failed login attempts, which stops repeated password guessing against your login page.
- Two-factor authentication: Asks users for a second verification step by email, mobile or an authenticator app, so a stolen password alone does not give access to your site.
- reCAPTCHA integration: Adds Google reCAPTCHA challenges to login pages, which makes it harder for bots and automated abuse to submit login forms.
- IP blacklist and whitelist: Lets you build a list of trusted addresses and a list of blocked ones, giving you direct control over who can log in.
- Auto lockout: Locks out suspicious IP addresses after a set number of failed login attempts. You choose the threshold that fits your site.
- Detailed activity logs: Records failed login attempts and suspicious activity so you can review security events and decide how to respond.
- MD5 checksum verification: Checks the integrity of your WordPress files and detects unauthorized changes, helping you spot tampering with core files.
- Pre-configured settings: Ships with sensible default settings for immediate protection, and every option remains customizable for the specific needs of your site.
Best for
- Site owners who want to limit login attempts
- Agencies managing security across several WordPress sites
- Bloggers and businesses adding two-factor login
