Overview

Stores that sell in Spain often need to accept payments through RedSys, which banks such as CaixaBank, Santander and BBVA rely on. This plugin adds RedSys to the WooCommerce checkout and keeps the payment process on your own website. It meets PSD2 security standards and handles preauthorizations, refunds and saved cards for one-click payments.

It also covers some practical needs of Spanish shops. Sequential invoice numbers can be generated to meet fiscal rules, and subscription payments work with WooCommerce Subscriptions, YITH and SUMO Subscriptions. Multisite networks and WPML-based multilingual stores are supported, and developers can adjust currencies, terminals, logos and gateway language through filters and settings.

Features

  • Many payment methods at checkout: Shoppers can pay by entering a card in the InSite form, or choose Bizum, Apple Pay, Google Pay, MasterPass, Paygold or a direct bank transfer.
  • PSD2 compliance: The gateway follows European PSD2 security standards for payment processing, which gives your store and its customers a reliable way to complete transactions.
  • Preauthorizations and refunds: Authorize a payment first and capture the funds later. Refunds can be issued straight from the WooCommerce order screen, and bulk actions handle several preauthorizations or refunds together.
  • One-click payments with saved cards: Customers can store their payment details through tokenization and pay with one click on later orders, without being sent away from your website.
  • Subscription support: Recurring payments through RedSys work with WooCommerce Subscriptions, YITH subscription plugins and SUMO Subscriptions.
  • Sequential invoice numbering: Invoice numbers are generated in sequence automatically, which helps stores meet Spanish fiscal requirements for numbered invoices.
  • Multisite and WPML ready: The plugin works on WordPress Multisite setups and is compatible with WPML, so international stores can manage several languages, including the language of the card form.
  • Terminals and developer filters: Two terminals can be managed from one WooCommerce installation. Filters and settings let developers customize currencies, terminals, logos and gateway language, and admins get emails about payment errors.

Best for

  • WooCommerce stores selling to customers in Spain
  • Shops that need Bizum, Apple Pay or Google Pay
  • Multilingual or multisite stores with subscription products

Changelog

Version 32.2.1 — 20 October 2026

  • Fixed Google Pay (checkout and redirection), Apple Pay, Direct Debit and PayGold in test mode, or in test mode for some users, with a live key configured: Redsys authorised the payment and the notification reached the store, but the order stayed pending and was later cancelled, with "Received valid notification" followed by "Signature verification failed in successful_request" in the log. The first check of the notification used the key the payment was signed with (the test key) and the second one always used the live key. Both now use the same key, and the order keeps the key it was verified with for later refunds. Live payments are unchanged, as they are signed with the live key. The 32.2.0 entry about test-mode notifications of these gateways fixed only the first check.
  • Improved WooCommerce > Status > System status, section "Redsys for WooCommerce": each active Redsys method now shows whether it is in test or production, and, when test mode for users is on, which user IDs pay in test (for example "(production, test for users: 1)").
